The combat mechanics are a little repetitive and can eat up lots of time, especially when there are many units onto the same space. There is a high variety of objective, mission & tactics’ cards, making the gameplay feel unique & involving for a very long time. Given the strategic variety, this is a very replayable game. The included adventure is a lot of fun, easy to run, and should take one long session or two regular sessions.

The Game is full of planning, bluff, deception & Star Wars experience. The art on the player side is gorgeous too, which is a shame since this typically ends up face down as a playmat at the table because Age of Rebellion (and EotE) explicitly doesn't hide dice rolls. Basically, you need to survive long enough, before the Empire player sniffs out your base location & destroys it. You travel through planets & make others join your cause & implement important military strikes against the Empire. It’s a self-contained snapshot of a familiar universe in comic form and you can tell that Pak and Buffagni had a lot of fun filling in some of the timeline. As a Rebel player, your troops are no match for the Empire, but You are not fighting a direct fight here. Star Wars: Age of Rebellion Lando Calrissian 1 is one of those great introductory comics. The gameplay is super long, but if you are into serious board games – this is even better! There is so much strategy in it. Star Wars Rebellion is super interesting & deep. The expansion improves the gameplay overall without extending the playtime. In fact, most of the players who try the expansion, they never ever choose to play the core set without it. However, this has been improved by the expansion of Star Wars: Rebellion – Rise of the Empire. There are two main negative points about the game, its length and quiet boring combat system, especially with a larger amount of units. Plus, you get to meet the famous characters from episodes 4, 5, or 6, such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Emperor Palpatine or Darth Vader, and more. Players implement actions & missions that sort of let you experience the excitement once again: stealing valuable intelligence, blowing up planets, control of Stormtroopers, Tie Fighters, Star Destroyers, even the Death Star. The amount of components is HUGE, you can really feel the thematic impact.
